Duodecimo feel privileged to join with The Werneth Band, this Christmas. We’ll be singing a dynamic and varied programme of music including well-loved favourites such as ‘Ding dong! merrily on high’ and ‘Mary’s Boy Child’, ‘Gaudete’ and ‘Winter Wonderland’. Along the way we’ll have jazzy pieces by Bob Chilcott and Peter Gritton, and we’ll take a ride with everyone’s favourite reindeer, Rudolph.

We are pleased to be returning to St George’s, Thornton Hough, on the Wirral, to start our new season after the summer break.
George Shearing’s settings of Shakespeare’s ‘Songs and Sonnets’ will form the main part of this concert, in the company of songs by Gershwin and Berlin. Partsongs by Parry, Holst and others, will help paint a picture of the extraordinary season we are leaving behind.
The music in the programme will span many styles and centuries, expertly sung, as always, by our talented choir.

Songs for Summer

Join us for our next concert in June, when we will appear at St Margaret’s church to sing a summery programme. George Shearing’s settings of Shakespeare’s ‘Songs and Sonnets’ will form the main part of this concert, in the company of songs by Gershwin and Berlin. Partsongs by Parry, Holst and others, will help give a flavour of this welcome season.
This concert is in support of The Falconer Trust, a small charity based in Norfolk, UK, which provides support for the Falconer Children’s Home and Orphanage in Kabulamema, Zambia.

Songs for Advent
Joint Concert with The Hayfield Singers
Providence URC Church, New Mills
For this year’s winter concert, with an earlier start at 7pm, we join The Hayfield Singers for a program of seasonal music. We perform music by Bob Chilcott, Oliver Tarney and Victoria. Choruses from Handel’s ‘Messiah’ will complete the evening, as we begin to look towards the Christmas festivities.

Christmas Fair, Wythenshawe Hall
We are pleased to appear at Wythenshawe Hall, once more, at one of our favourite events of the year. We will be singing traditional Christmas carols, amid the bustle of events organised by the Friends of Wythenshawe Hall.

An Evening of Summer Song
Mottram Evangelical Church
This summer, at the earlier time of 7pm, we return to Mottram and are joined by the enthusiastic school choir of Mottram CE Primary. As well as our lighter mix of well known music, we will be acknowledging the centenary of CHH Parry, and place his music in the company of his contemporaries, Elgar and Holst.

Spring Concert – Chorley Methodist Church
This Spring, we return to Chorley and are joined by the talented Chapel Choir of St Michael’s C of E High School, led by Phil White.
Hear music by Holst, Cole Porter and The Carpenters as well as the dynamic singing of the school choir.

Tales of Love… and other stories
Join us for our programme at Thornton Hough United Reformed Church, Wirral Peninsula. We’ll sing some of Holst’s folksong arrangements (including I sowed the seeds of Love, My Sweetheart’s like Venus), treat you to well-loved music from America (I got rhythm, I’m beginning to see the light) and indulge in an early Christmas, with music little known – but lovely!

Sing a Song of Sixpence
Join us for our return to Ford’s Lane Evangelical Church, where we were first made welcome in 2015. Our programme this summer will include John Rutter’s ‘Five Childhood Lyrics’, as well as arrangements of folk songs and classic jazz standards, such as ‘I’m beginning to see the light’ and ‘I got rhythm’..

Follow That Star!
Our beautiful annual Carol Concert. It was a lovely balance of favourites, with some to sing together, and some lesser know Christmas and seasonal songs which deserve to be heard more often!

We loved combining forces with the choir at St Paul’s, Withington to perform this reflective programme of Poulence and Faure.

Choir trip to Cornwall!
We received a brilliant welcome by local choir, Cadon, and sang a joint concert, with some shared numbers.

It was lovely to share some new repertoire and reflect on how another choir does things – Cadon were singing pieces written for them, which they thrived on. And the next day we sang a Hassler mass at St Symphorian’s Church, in nearby Forrabury, before retiring to the Wellington Arms for Sunday lunch!

Music for Passiontide
Our passiontide concert at St Michael’s Church, Flixton, was our best yet – the programme (Faure’s Requiem and Caldara’s Stabat Mater, amongst other beautiful songs) played to all our strengths and the audience were in for a treat!
