Thankyou for a warm welcome in the middle of winter from Christ Church in Didsbury. It’s every choral singer’s favourite time of year and we loved sharing some lesser known festive material, along with many of the well-loved traditional carols.
On 28th June 2014 we sang in the beautiful setting of the newly-refurbished St Paul’s Church, Withington. We gave a lovely programme ranging from madrigals by Bennett and Gibbons, to folk songs from England and abroad and some sacred motets by Stanford and Byrd – and another chance to hear the breath-taking work by Tavener, The Temple of the Veil.
When: Saturday 28th June 2014, 7.30pm
Where: St Paul’s Church. Wilmslow, Withington, M20 4AW

We received a brilliant welcome by local choir, Cadon, and sang a joint concert, with some shared numbers.
“Some of my favourite music, sung very well indeed!”
Marcus Alleyne, Conductor of Cadon Choir
It was lovely to share some new repertoire and reflect on how another choir does things – Cadon were singing pieces written for them, which they thrived on.

And the next day we sang a Hassler mass at St Symphorian’s Church, in nearby Forrabury, before retiring to the Wellington Arms for Sunday lunch!
Our return trip to the newly-restored Springbank Arts Centre in New Mills was a lovely welcome and the gig proved to be a special one with a few spine-tingling moments – Thanks New Mills!
“Britain has got talent – and tonight it’s here in New Mills!”
Very kind words from Philip Kendall of Springbank Arts

Christmas music for early Advent. We had a lovely evening singing some familiar and some less familiar Christmas work to start advent. Following the sad news of John Tavener’s death it was a lovely opportunity to perform four of his works for choir – which we had already programmed back in October. The works are fine examples of his constant search to record “a music that exists already in the cosmos… the uncreated music of God.” And what better way to find a connection with the spiritual importance of Christmas?
When: Saturday 7th Dcember 2013, 7.30pm
Where: St Matthew’s Church, Chester Road, Stretford, M32 8HF
What: Lovely advent carols, plus some special treats from John Tavener.
Our passiontide concert at St Michael’s Church, Flixton, was our best yet – the programme played to all our strengths and the audience were in for a treat!

Where: St Michael’s Church, Church Road, Flixton, M41 6HR

This was a lovely evening of traditional song at St Matthew’s, Stretford – and thanks to them for hosting and welcoming us into the church.
After the fresh air and hills at Edale we brought some of the same songs to Stretford St Matthew’s Church, on 9th June, 7.30pm. The 19th century church is a beautiful space for song, and our a cappella harmonies filled it up with folk song from around the world.
We got some fantastic feedback – and we’d love to sing there again some time soon!
We were at Manchester Christmas Markets on Sunday 11th December, between 4 – 6pm, to raise money for Christies Hospital and the Autistic Society Greater Manchester Area. Setting up by the War Memorial we gathered quite a crowd, particularly in the early part of the set – in total we raised £250 for our charities!
When: Sunday 11th December, 4 – 6pm
Where: St Anne’s Square, Manchester, next to the War Memorial.
What: Lovely carol singing, in aid of Christies Hospital and the Autistic Society.
